Spring Valley - Margaret E. Watson, 61, of Spring Valley, IL passed away at St. Margaret's Hospital in Spring Valley on Thursday, June 10th at 2:47 AM, 2021, surrounded by loved ones. Her son Jeff was by her side. Margaret, lovingly known as Maggie, was born on January 25th, 1960, in Spring Valley, IL to the late George (Earl) and Ruby (Booth) Watson. She was a graduate of Malden, IL high school class of 1979. She worked for the McDonald's Corp. in Peru, IL for 23+ years, retiring in 2015 due to health reasons. She was hardworking which included lots of double shifts and overtime because taking care of her family was what she loved to do. She enjoyed hanging out with friends, cookouts, and being very social, never meeting a stranger. Maggie was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, born and bred and was so happy she was able to see them win the World Series in 2016. She was a member of the Servant's Heart Fellowship. She enjoyed attending church and spending time with her church family until she was unable, due to health issues. She volunteered with the church food pantry. Her greatest joys in life were her 2 children and spoiling them, as well as her grandchildren. Maggie is survived by 2 children, Jeff (Marjorie Mariano) Rasmussen of LaSalle, IL, Jennifer (Karen Danner) Toney, three grandchildren, Kayle Rasmussen, John Jr. Danner and Anthanee Danner. As well as six sisters, Grace Griffin, Helen (Ron Shemwell) Lilley, Kay Wiemken, Nancy (Rick) Timmerman, Melanie (Robert) Wilson, Berneice Thompson. Three brothers; George (Rita Mongan) Watson, Mike Watson and Bill Watson, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded death by her parents George (Earl) and Ruby Watson, sisters Sue Ramey, Barbara Barth and Connie Green, one brother Larry Lee Watson. Services will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2021 from 6-8 at Servants Heart Fellowship, 2901 N Peoria Street, Peru, IL . In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
