Amelia M. Swanson 1915-2010 Funeral service for Amelia M. Swanson, age 94 of Princeton, will be Monday, Aug 30, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Louis Catholic Church. Father Jeffrey Stirniman will officiate. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery Princeton. The family will receive friends on Sunday August 29, 2010 from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. with a Rosary recited at 5:00 PM at Norberg Memorial Home. Mrs. Swanson passed away on Tuesday, Aug 24, 2010 at Perry Memorial Hospital. She was born on Oct. 06, 1915 in Spring Valley, IL. to Enrico and Maria (Salvetti) Brogi. She graduated from Hall High School Spring Valley, IL in 1931 and from St. Joseph School of Nursing, Chicago,IL in 1937. After graduation she was employed by Dr. Miltenburger in Spring Valley and the last 17 years of her working career at Perry Memorial Hospital. She married Elliott Swanson on November 12, 1938 in Spring Valley, IL. She was an active member of St. Louis Catholic Church. She was also a Life Master Duplicate Bridge Player. Amelia is survived by 5 children: Karen Swanson of Princeton, Bill (Sharon) Swanson of Princeton, Joe (Linda) Swanson of St. Petersburg, FL; Patricia (Thomas) Isaacson, of Princeton and Mary (Charles) McQueen of Olney, MD and one daughter-in-law Jeanine Swanson of Princeton. Also Surviving are 15 grand children: Kristin Wagner and Melissa Gibson of Tucson, AZ, Aaron Barsness of Stockholm, Sweden, Adam Barsness of Phoenix, AZ Alan Swanson of Ridgewood, NJ Eric Swanson of Las Vegas, NV Jennifer Neely of Devon, PA, Lora Ann Aulbach of Meridian, ID, Melinda Marie Leone of Arlington, Nicole Lea Isaacson of Princeton, Justin Swanson of New York, New York, Jaime Swanson of Chicago, IL Katherine Mencarini of Burtonsville, Maryland Emily McQueen of Arlington, Virginia and Luke McQueen of Cincinnati, Ohio. Also surviving are 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Elliott Swanson on September 16, 1990, one son E.J. Swanson on December 8, 2002, and three sisters: Louise Torri, Lena Kuzma, and Jennie Dieci. Memorials may be directed to Friends of Strays or towards Mass Cards in Amelia's honor.
