Arthur E Bland

Princeton - Arthur Edward Bland (Blando), was born December 14th, 1941, in Depue, IL. He passed away July 15th, 2023 in his home in Princeton, IL. He grew up in the Seatonville area and attended Hall High School. He met the love of his life, Judy Marie Fritz, in 1960 and they married July 15, 1962. Their union lasted exactly 61 years to the day. In his younger years, he was employed at a horse farm outside of Seatonville, a job he truly enjoyed. While in his twenties, he worked in construction and excavation. Later, he became a member of the Teamsters Union and drove trucks for a number of companies including Preston and the Princeton Redi-mix until his retirement in 2003. From that day on, he dedicated his time to the role of Grandpa (Banka, Grampy) to Emma, Nate and Jacklynn. They were his joy in life! Art enjoyed country music especially Waylon, Willie and the Boys. He was an avid coin collector and Dallas Cowboys fan. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and Formula 1 Racing. He and his family went on numerous vacations over the years, always loading up the maxi-van and hitting the road with his country music playing on the radio. His favorite pastimes were entertaining/spoiling his grandchildren, visiting with old friends and spending countless hours working in his yard. He is survived by his wife, Judy of Princeton, IL; two daughters, Margo (Fred) Cartwright and Michelle Mosier, both of Princeton; three grandchildren, Emma (Brodi) Proffitt of Mokena, IL, Nathan Mosier and Jacklynn Cartwright of Princeton; one God daughter, Rachel Curtis; one sister, Bonnie (Ken) Biggin and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Monica Lynn Bland; one God daughter, Amy Hanna; his parents, William Dexter Bland and Elsie Marie (Phillips) Bland; seven brothers: Harold, David, Paul, Hank, Levi, John, Glenn and five sisters: Margaret, Dorothy, Elsie, Mary Alice and Jenny. Heartfelt gratitude to all those who visited when he could no longer visit them with a special thanks to Mark and Dori Gbur, Theresa Boyd, Joy Johnson, Cindy Sticken and Peanut Isaacson. The family would also like to acknowledge the hospice team at In-Home Care Connection. We are forever grateful for the comforting care and kindness you showed Art. In lieu of flowers, Memorial may be directed to the family. Visitation will be held at Norberg Memorial Home, Inc & Monuments 701 E Thompson Street, Princeton, IL Thursday, July 20th 5:00 - 7:00pm. Funeral Services to be held on Friday, July 21, 2023 at Norberg Memorial Home, Inc. & Monuments at 10:30 a.m. officiated by Pastor Darin Jones. Graveside services to follow at Oakland Cemetery.
