Carl H. Hultine 1918-2010 Funeral service for Carl H. Hultine, age 91 of Princeton, will be Thursday, Apr 29, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the St. Matthews Lutheran Church. Rev. Jeffery Schlesinger will officiate. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery on Apr 29, 2010. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Apr 28, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Norberg Memorial Home. Carl H. Hultine passed away on Monday, Apr 26, 2010 at Perry Memorial Hospital. He was born on Jul 19, 1918 in Berlin Township to Axel Hultine and Katherine (Pierson) Hultine. He attended Malden High School. He married Patricia "Pat" Landers on Sep 21, 1947. Carl owned and operated Hultine Oil Company. He was an active member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church, VFW Post 4323, and Princeton American Legion Post 125. Carl was also involved in many organizations including: President of the Princeton Park District Chairman of the Bureau County Board (2 years) Member of the Bureau County Board (12 years) President of Booster Club President of St. Matthews Lutheran Church Council President and Member of Princeton Memorial Day Association Commander of VFW Post 4323 Republican Precinct Committeemen Chairman of Bureau County Republican Party (1972-1980) Crime Commission and North Central Council of Government Bureau County Housing Authority 13th Judicial District Princeton Little League Baseball Chain Gang for PHS Football (25 years) Princeton High School Booster of the Year 1991 President of Kiwanis International Gold Coat at Perry Memorial Hospital Carl served in the US Army during WWII in the Pacific Theatre as a part of the 129th Infantry and took part in the Liberation of Manila. He was wounded in action in 1945 on Luzon Island in the Philippines. Carl's Military Honors include: Purple Heart Bronze Star Combat Infantry Badge Philippine Liberation World War II Victory Good Conduct Asiatic Pacific Campaign Philippine Defense, Army Commendation Armed Forces Expeditionary, American Campaign and the Presidential Unit Citation. Carl is survived by his wife of 62 years Patricia "Pat" Hultine of Princeton. Also surviving are two children Kathy (Charlie) Waca of Princeton and Jim (Cindy) Hultine of Florida. Surviving as well are grandchildren: Chris (Tammy) Waca, Eric (Rachel) Waca, Jennifer (Corey) Bacorn, Jordan Hultine, and Jonathan Hultine and great-grandchildren: Marisa Bacorn, Noah Bacorn, Aubree Waca, Avery Waca, Ethan Bacorn, and Alexandra Waca. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Glenn and Robert, and one sister Violet. Memorials may be directed to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.
