Tiskilwa - Charles Edward "Chuck" Lucas, 94, of Princeton, IL., passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 21, 1929, in Hodgenville, KY. the son of Alford and Elizabeth (Metcalf) Lucas. Chuck, as he was affectionately known, lived a life marked by adventure, dedication, and a deep love for his family. On October 15, 1951, he married the love of his life, Neva A Dall, at the Bureau County Courthouse, and together they built a life filled with love and cherished memories. Throughout his career, Chuck worked diligently, leaving a lasting impact wherever he went. He dedicated his talents to Champion Pneumatic and later pursued his passion for automobiles at Chuck's Auto Repair for over 40 years. Chuck's love for vintage automobiles was unmatched. He was a proud member of the Wyanet Old Car Club and found immense joy in restoring and admiring old and antique cars. His adventurous spirit led him to explore every state west of the Mississippi River, leaving a trail of unforgettable memories in his wake. A true patriot, Chuck served his country with honor during the Korean War, demonstrating bravery and resilience in the face of adversity. His selflessness and dedication to his country will be remembered with gratitude and reverence. His love for adventure knew no bounds. He embarked on unforgettable journeys, including driving his family to Alaska and traversing the country coast to coast in a 1932 Chevy that he lovingly restored himself. These experiences exemplified his indomitable spirit and zest for life. Chuck will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of 72 years, Neva Lucas of Tiskilwa, IL.; his children, Rock E Lucas of Princeton, IL and Crystal (Randy Warren) Lilley of Princeton, IL.; five grandchildren, Janelle (Joe) McCarter of Princeton, IL., Jodi (Scot) Nally of Walnut, IL., Jon (Kirby) Lilley of Wyanet, IL., Katie (Alex) Addesso of Denver, CO. and Mason Lucas of Denver, CO.; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Graybeal of Campbellsville, KY and Lorene Martens of Columbia, KY. Preceded in death by his parents Alford and Elizabeth Lucas, two brothers, Bill Lucas and Marion Lucas, two sisters Bert Cantwell and Sharon Gerard.
