Princeton - DuAnne Marie "Du" VeZain, 69, of Princeton, Illinois, passed away peacefully at her home, right where she wanted to be, with loved ones at her side, on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. Born on October 14, 1956, in Ottawa, Illinois, she was the beloved daughter of William "Bill" VeZain and Joyce (Street) VeZain. She graduated from Princeton High School with the Class of 1975 and continued her education at Sauk Valley College. Throughout her life, DuAnne was known for her incredible work ethic and dedication. She held positions at Mr. Quick's, Hornsbys, The Beauty Happening, First State Bank, and ultimately spent 34 years with LCN Door Closers, where she built lasting friendships and earned the respect of her coworkers. DuAnne lived a life centered on serving others. She was a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary, volunteered with Guardian Angel Outreach, and faithfully assisted with the after-school program at Bunker Hill Church's Anchor ministry. She never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and found genuine joy in caring for others. She loved staying active and was always on the go. One of her greatest joys was babysitting her two favorite little kiddos and proudly cheering on two special girls she loved as if they were her own. Family and friends knew they could always count on DuAnne for encouragement, support, and a smile. She enjoyed attending auctions with her special permanent number #96-and rarely missed one. She found beauty in the simple things, especially watching the snow fall, and she never failed to call or text someone to let them know it was snowing. DuAnne faithfully attended services at Bunker Hill Church and treasured her church family. Quiet evenings often found her enjoying the Hallmark Channel, and she was a loyal supporter of Myrtle's Pie and the Alexander Park Tavern. Her generous heart, infectious kindness, and unwavering willingness to help others will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, William "Bill" and Joyce VeZain, and by her dear friend, Susan G. Smith. Although DuAnne had no children of her own, she leaves behind four very special boys whom she loved as her own: Scott (Donna) Michael of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Clifford Michael (Courtney Hartmann) of Princeton, Illinois, Daniel Michael of Seattle, Washington, and Ben (Laura) Michael of Pekin, Illinois. She is also survived by her siblings, Linda (Ed) Volkman of Streator, Illinois, Denise Kitchen of Mackinaw, Illinois, Michelle (Michael) Atchinson of Foley, Alabama, and Thomas VeZain of Woodridge, Illinois; along with several beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. DuAnne's greatest legacy was not measured by possessions, but by the countless lives she touched through her compassion, generosity, and selfless spirit. She made everyone feel important, always found time to help those around her, and filled the lives of others with love and kindness. She will be remembered for her servant's heart, her joyful spirit, and the many small acts of love that made such a tremendous difference. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Guardian Angel Outreach or Bunker Hill Church. Visitation for DuAnne will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Norberg Memorial Home, Inc & Monuments. Funeral Services will follow at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Chantha Chhim officiating.
