Esther M. Sinn

Esther Mae Sinn, age 82, of Princeton, passed away Friday, August 7, 2009, at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, with her loving family at her side. She was born January 27, 1927, in Peoria, to Chester F. Moore and Gertrude (Shinnefield) Moore. She married Edgar C. Sinn February 21, 1948, at Second Presbyterian Church in Peoria. He survives, along with one daughter, Jennifer S. (Dan) Choate of Bargersville, Indiana ; one son David R. (Connie) Sinn of Spring Bay; six grandchildren , Natalie K. (Victor) Cornejo, Las Vegas Nevada; Kathryn E. (Jeremy) Hudson of Cincinnati, Ohio; Rachel E. (John) Krass of Chicago; Andrew R. Choate of Salt Lake City, Utah; Julia M. (Kurt) Voss of St. Louis; David J.E. Sinn of Spring Bay; two great grandhildren Isabella Jolee Cornejo and Andrew Jeffery Hudson; and a great many dear nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and four sisters, one son and two daughters. She was a 1943 graduate of Manual High School and a 1947 graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse at St Francis Hospital in Peoria and a book keeper for many years at Sinn Oil Co. in East Peoria. At various times she was a member of Bethel Memorial Lutheran Church of Creve Coeur; Community Church of Morton United Church of Christ; Hampshire Colony Church of Princeton and Evangelical Covenant Church of Princeton. She loved and served her Lord and His church in many capacities. She enjoyed life to the fullest, especially when an activity involved her family. She was a member of ladies golf leagues in East Peoria and Princeton. She enjoyed was an avid reader. She loved ballroom dancing. She remained in close contact for many decades with her nursing school class mates all of whom were especially dear to her. A visitation with her family will be held 5:00 to 7:30 PM at Evangelical Covenant Church , 24 North Main St. , Princeton, on Sunday, August 9, 2009. A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 10, at Covenant Church, Princeton, Pastors Bernie Windmiller and John Weberg officiating. A graveside service will be held at Mackinaw Township Cemetery, Mackinaw, Ill., at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 11, 2009. Memorial contributions may be made to Evangelical Covenant Church, Princeton, Ill., and The Salvation Army. Norberg Memorial Home is in charge of the arrangements.
