Frances M Jaskowiak

Bureau – Frances M. Jaskowiak, 96, of Bureau, IL passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018, at St. Margaret’s Hospital surrounded by loved ones. Frances was born in Spring Valley, IL, on June 10, 1922, to Frank and Catharine (Bast) Arnold. She attended Princeton High School, Class of 1940, where she was Valedictorian. She worked as a secretary at the Brown Law Offices before meeting and marrying her beloved Robert F. Jaskowiak, on August 27, 1953. Robert and Frances just recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Frances worked as the secretary at Lincoln Elementary School for twenty four years before retiring. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, St. Francis Xavier Altar Guild, and Bureau Grade School Mothers Club. Frances enjoyed reading, baking and the outdoors. Frances especially loved to travel and was fond of all animals. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family. She was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Frances is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert Jaskowiak, her six children, Joseph (Susan) Jaskowiak, Margaret Jaskowiak, Thomas (Tina) Jaskowiak, Steven (Kathleen) Jaskowiak, Mary Diekemper and Anne (Gerald) Devert; eleven grandchildren, Paul (Jennifer) Jaskowiak, Mark Jaskowiak, Julia (Art) Singarajah, John Jaskowiak, Mary Kathryn (Dave) Cannon, Michael Jaskowiak, Daniel Jaskowiak, Mary Jaskowiak, Lisa Jaskowiak, Kelly Devert, Madeline Devert; and three great grandchildren, Jack Singarajah, Rory Singarahjah and Lily Singarajah. She is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Catharine Arnold; two brothers, John A. Frey and Martin T. Frey; and one sister, Marguerite Frey. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Hennepin, IL, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., immediately followed by a funeral Mass at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Hennepin, IL, officiated by Father Pat Demeulemeester. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Bureau, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Bureau Fire Protection District or St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley, IL.
