Jill Marie Husted

Jill Marie Husted joined her Lord and Savior on March 10th, 2024. Jill was born in Bemidji, Minnesota, on October 7th, 1948. As an only child, Jill was the entire world to her parents, Jack Jefferson Grover and Eunice Pearl Grover. Jill attended Bemidji State University and in 1976, she graduated with her bachelor's degree in social studies. In 1998, Jill also achieved her master's degree in special education. A true educator, Jill served her community as a special education teacher for seven years in Cass Lake, Minnesota, and thirteen years in Hampshire, Illinois. Jill was the fierce mother of two children, Jessica Lynn Brayfield and Paul Louis Berger. When Jill met her husband, Brian Edgar Husted, she found her soul mate. The devoted couple were married at First United Methodist Church in Hampshire, Illinois, on July 14, 1996. If you were looking for Jill, you could find her weeding her incredible garden or doing a crossword (in pen) with a cup of coffee nearby. Her British mystery shows were always on the TV and a half-dozen knitting projects were always at hand. She was a devoted member of her church, First United Methodist Church, in Princeton, IL, and she loved visiting with her dear friends, whether it was at her prayer shawl knitting group, at one of her and Brian's wild parties, or at one of many memorable dinners. Always the matriarch, Jill is survived by her husband, Brian Husted; her children, Jessica Brayfield of Princeton, IL, and Paul Berger (Kate Forney), of Modesto, CA; her several grandchildren, Alexis O'Connor (Boochi Kashinkunti) of Chicago, IL, Jack O'Connor of Princeton, IL, Mark O'Connor (Angela Claus) of Princeton, IL, Maximus Wilborn of Princeton, IL, Enzo Berger of Modesto, CA, Stella Berger of Modesto, CA, Lucca Berger of Modesto, CA, and Arya Kashinkunti of Chicago, IL; and her great-granddaughter, Claire O'Connor of Princeton, IL. Jill is reunited with her parents, Jack and Eunice Grover. A private memorial service will be held in Jill's honor when the flowers begin to bloom this spring.
