John Edward Austin 1927-2009 Funeral service for John Edward Austin, age 82 of Princeton, will be Monday, Oct 12, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the St. Louis Catholic Church. Father Jeffery Stirniman will officiate. Cremation will be accorded and burial will be private and at a later date. The family will receive friends on Sunday, Oct 11, 2009 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:00 PM at the Norberg Memorial Home. Mr. Austin passed away on Wednesday, Oct 07, 2009 at his home. He was born on Jul 03, 1927 in Owatonna, MN to Eli H. and Mildred (Klima) Austin. He graduated from Owatonna High School in 1945. He then Attended St. Mary's College in Winona, MN and graduated from the Minnesota School of Business in 1949. He married Jeanne Ochs on August 6, 1949 at St, Joseph's Church in Owatonna, MN. He served in the US Navy in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. John was then employed at Jostens for 20 years in Owatonna and Princeton. In 1969 he established A&M products in Princeton where he became partners with his wife and son Mark before retiring in 2005. (Although he was always willing to help out when needed) Mr. Austin was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, the Fr. Farrell Knights of Columbus, and a past president of the Princeton Rotary and Jaycees. He was an avid golfer, a prairie gardener, and a gentle man who will be sadly missed. John is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jeanne Austin, of Princeton. Also surviving are five children; Katherine (Bruce) Chandler of Washington DC, Mark (Patricia Arabia) Austin of Princeton, David Austin of Osage City, Missouri, Amy (Deirdre Joy)Austin of Washington DC, and Mary (Terry) Donnelly of Vashon Island, Washington. Surviving as well are nine grandchildren; Andy, Erin, and Maggie Austin, Patrick Arabia, Katy Lindberg, Eric Herbolsheimer, Eli and Luis Austin, and Adelaide Joy and two great-grandchildren; Alison and Zachary Lindberg. Also surviving is one brother Thomas (Shirley) Austin of Columbia, Missouri, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Mary Jeanine Hagen. Memorials may be directed to to St. Louis Catholic School Foundation or the Princeton Public Library.
