Lois R. Richards 1925-2012 Funeral service for Lois R. Richards, will be Monday, May 21, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the First Lutheran Church of Princeton. Pastor Norman Femrite will officiate. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery on May 21, 2012. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 20, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Norberg Memorial Home and again Monday morning from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church. Lois R. Richards, 86, of Princeton passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Liberty Village in Princeton. She was born May 21, 1925 in Princeton to Malcolm & Ellen (Anderson) Tragordh. She was united in marriage to Harold I. Richards on November 14, 1948 at First Lutheran Church in Princeton. Lois graduated from Bureau Township High School and Brown’s Business College in Peoria. She worked at Citizens National Bank in Princeton. She was an active member of First Lutheran Church, Priscilla Circle of the LCW, member of small group bible study and Altar Guild. Lois was also an active member of the Princeton Junior Home Extension and Center Grove Community Club. She was on the 4-H board and the Bureau County Home Extension Board. She also volunteered with Mobile Meals, at The Closet and sewing quilts for Lutheran World Relief. Lois truly enjoyed spending time with her husband, daughters, and their families. Lois’ hobbies included crocheting, knitting, sewing, crafts and gardening. She enjoyed good health, valued family and friends, loved the outdoors, entertaining many friends and family, but most of all she enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great-grandson and playing cards. Upon retirement, Lois enjoyed traveling with Harold in their motor home. Lois is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Harold Richards of Princeton; daughters: Nancy (Mike) Jordahl of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Mary (Scott) Wallis of Princeton, Julie (Don) Waldrop of Petersburg, son-in-law Kendall (Deb) Herzel of Peoria; 8 grandchildren: Nick (Kate) Herzel, Amber (Dave) Simpson, Dan Jordahl, Tim Jordahl, Peter Jordahl, Andrew Wallis, Jason Wallis, and Matt Waldrop; and one great-grandson, Riley Herzel. She is also survived by her sister, Margery Read of Henry. She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Judy Herzel. Memorials may be directed to First Lutheran Church and Gateway Services.
