Marguerite "Marge" R. Earley 1923-2012 Funeral service for Marguerite "Marge" R. Earley, age 89 of Princeton, will be Friday, Mar 02, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Norberg Memorial Home. Pastor Gary Brooks will officiate. Burial will follow in the Elm Lawn Memorial Park on Feb 27, 2012. The family will receive friends on Thursday, Mar 01, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Norberg Memorial Home. Mrs. Earley passed away on Saturday, Feb 25, 2012 at Liberty Village of Princeton. She was born on Feb 25, 1923 in Ohio to Albert and Carrie (Davis) Bachmann. The Bachmanns were a musical family and she and her sisters played the piano and sang in the community, including a talent show performance in Cleveland. Marge graduated from Ashland High School in Ohio. She was a pianist for a square dancing group in Ohio, which is where she met her husband Willard "Bill" Earley. Marge and Bill married on November 2, 1942 in Ashland, Kentucky. Marge first worked as a bookkeeper in Ohio and Texas. Later, she was a farmer right beside her husband and was life-long homemaker. In 1951 they moved to illinois with bill's parents and brother and his sister's family in a series of caravans of cars, tractors, trucks, adults, children and assorted animals- back and forth with no cell phones, interstates, fast food, or GPS. She was a prized baker of many things, especially pies and coffe cake. Marge was also an accomplished pianist and songwriter throughout the greater local community. She was a previous Malden resident and was very active in that community. She enjoyed writing and performing various shows with the Malden Community Club. Marge was also a previous member of the Malden Methodist Church. Mrs. Earley is survived by her four children; Sheldon (Beverly) Earley of McHenry Diana Jensen of Princeton, Elaine (David) Kennicott of Washington State, and Lillian Johnson of California. Also surviving are six grandchildren; Jennifer (Al) Schultz of Wisconsin, Marcy and Jeremy Johnson of California, James (Copper) Kennicott of Washington State, Patty (Barton) Jones of California, and Roger (Erin) Johnson of Chicago. Surviving as well are 11 great-grandchildren, two sisters; Shirley Batson and Janice (John) Rowsey both of Ohio, two sisters-in-law Helen (Bob) Aaron of Princeton and Kathryn Bachmann of Alabama, a brother-in-law John (Helen) Earley of Florida, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Marge was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers; Norman, Phillip and Stanley Bachmann and one son-in-law Michael Jensen. Memorials may be directed to American Heart Association. The family would like to thank staff at Liberty Village ; Dr. Meston and his staff, and the staffs of In-Home Care, and Mercy Nursing for the compassionate care of our Mom.
