Marilyn Jean Taylor

Bloomington - Marilyn Jean Taylor, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the McClean County Nursing Home in Normal, IL. Marilyn was born on August 5, 1938 to the late Roger and Doris (Odell) Hoover in Princeton, IL. She graduated from the Bureau TWP Schools, Class of 1956. She also graduated from Browns Business School in Peoria, IL. Marilyn worked for the Federal Government in Gary, IN and the Veterans Administration. She also worked for Jostens in Princeton in the office and retired from Moews Seed Corn Company in Granville, IL after 38 years. She married Clinton Taylor on August 8, 1959 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Princeton, IL. The couple farmed North of Princeton for several years then farmed in Arlington, IL. After retiring from farming in the area the couple moved to Mendota, where they resided until Clintons passing. Marilyn moved back to Princeton and eventually to Bloomington with her sister and brother-in-law, Marcia and Terry Moore, whom she resided with until moving to the McClean County Nursing Home. Marilyn was active in Bureau County 4-H and was an associate Leader for the Bureau TWP boys and girls club. She was a member of the Red Hat Society in Mendota and she enjoyed going to farm toy shows when in the area. When at home relaxing, you would often find her with a word search puzzle book in hand. Surviving Marilyn are her sisters, Marcia Moore of Bloomington, IL., and Margaret Wooden of LeClair, IA as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Taylor as well as her parents, Roger and Doris Hoover and brother-in-law Terry Moore and Leslie Wooden. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Princeton, IL. A visitation will be held on Monday, February 20, 2023 at Norberg Memorial Home, Inc. & Monuments from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Services to follow at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 20, 2023, at Norberg Memorial Home, Inc. & Monuments officiated by Pastor Scott Schmidt.
