Monica A Gustafson 1953-2009 Memorial service for Monica A Gustafson, age 55 of La Salle, will be Friday, Mar 27, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Norberg Memorial Home. Deacon John Murphy will officiate. Cremation rites have been accorded, burial will be private and at a later date. Luncheon will follow the Memorial Service at Harkrader Hall in Princeton. The family will receive friends on Thursday, Mar 26, 2009 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Norberg Memorial Home. Monica A. Gustafson passed away on Monday, Mar 23, 2009 at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born on Apr 09, 1953 in Dixon, IL to John and Joanne (Gannon) Mensch still surviving in Princeton. She graduated from Princeton High School in 1971 and she later graduated from the College of St. Francis in 1988 with a bachelors degree in Health Science. She also recieved an MBA from Lewis University in 1993. She married Irvin Gustafson on Nov 13, 1992 in Bloomington, IL. He Survives. Monica worked for several hospitals including: Perry Memorial in Princeton as Vice President of Professional Services and Director of Laboratory Services, Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital in Decorah, IA as Chief Operating Officer, Decatur County Hospital in Leon, IA as a Network CEO/Administrator and most recently she worked at IVCH in Peru as the Chief Operating Officer. Monica was a member of several organizations including; Fellow of American College of Healthcare Executives, the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, the Iowa Hospital Assc, she was on the board of Directors for the Bureau County United Way, and the VNA Board of Directors for In Home Care in Bureau County. She was also a member of St. Louis Catholic Church. She is survived by her Husband, Irvin Gustafson of La Salle. Also surviving is one son Eric (Candace) Foster of Princeton and one grandchild Chase Foster still at home. Survivig as well are 5 siblings Bill Mensch of CO, Jane (Rob) Edelman of NY, John G. Mensch of St. Croix, July (Jon) Fike of Bloomington and Lisa (Tony) Nally-Adrahtas of Plainfield. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents. Memorials may be directed to May be directed to the Illinois Valley Community Hospital Foundation.
