Nancy May

Princeton - Nancy Ann (Cordrey) May 83, passed away on December 18, 2023, at Liberty Village in Princeton, Illinois. Born in Kewanee, Illinois on April 27, 1940, to the late Lenard and Hallie (Underwood) Cordrey. Nancy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Nancy attended Felney Junior High, which was an Illinois Soldiers and Sailors school for dependents of military personnel. She later attended University High School in Normal, Illinois. After completing her education, Nancy met and later married Duane Raymond May on November 14, 1957, in Rockford, Illinois. She then dedicated her life to being a homemaker. She raised three wild boys and assisted with the farming operation until she and Duane retired and relocated to Princeton in 2010. She is survived by her three sons, Steven (Jenifer) May of Florida, Kyle (Angelica) May of Arizona, and Chad (Gloria) May of Princeton, Illinois; She was also cherished by her seven grandchildren Joshua May, Megan (Brian) Luft, Ashley (Tyler) Elliott, Hallie (Matt) Monroe, McCaela May, Samuel May, and Mitchell May and four great-grandchildren Taylor May, Harper and Ella Monroe, and Benjamin Elliott. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Duane of 64 years in July of 2022 as well as her parents. In her free time, Nancy had a passion for flowers and maintained a beautiful flower garden at her farm in rural Princeton, as well as at her home in Princeton. She also found joy in spending time with her boys, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Nancy was an excellent cook; she loved playing cards and cherished the time spent with her loved ones. Nancy and her late husband Duane had expressed upon death their wishes to donate their bodies to science. As per Nancy's wishes, there will be no services. The immediate family will be holding a celebration of life gathering at a later date and time. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a charitable donation to the Princeton Christian Academy. Nancy Ann May will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her kind and loving nature will forever be remembered and cherished.
