Princeton - Pamela Kay Pratt, 69, leaves us with heavy hearts, she passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, Illinois. Known to many as "Memaw" and affectionately nicknamed "Moses" by those closest to her, Pam was a guiding light-steady, loving, and full of laughter. She was born on March 23, 1956, in Virginia to Bruce and Annie Cox, who preceded her in death. Pam graduated from Dupont High School in Old Hickory, Tennessee, in 1974 and carried a quiet strength and Southern warmth with her throughout her life. On June 27, 2000, Pam married her soulmate, Kevin Marsh, in a joyful ceremony in Las Vegas. Their love was deep, playful, and enduring-a true partnership. Together, they made their home in Princeton, Illinois, a place Pam came to cherish for its people, its rhythm, and its sense of community. She didn't just live in Princeton-she became part of its heart. Pam wore many hats throughout her career, working as a sales representative for the Bureau County Republican, contributing to the Bureau County Historical Society, and getting her hands happily dirty at Seatonville Greenhouse. But it was her gift with people that truly defined her. Whether she was chatting with a neighbor, mentoring a new friend, or organizing a community event, Pam had a way of making everyone feel seen, heard, and loved. She gave herself fully to her community, most notably through her work with the Princeton Rotary Club. If something needed doing, Pam was there-serving as Greeter, Sergeant-at-Arms, working auctions, organizing fundraisers, or simply lending a helping hand. Her energy, warmth, and determination made every event brighter and every gathering more meaningful. She also served as a Chamber Ambassador and remained deeply involved with the Historical Society, where her curiosity and love of history shone. At home, Pam found joy in life's simplest pleasures: digging in the dirt of her garden, sipping coffee with friends, cheering at her grandsons' soccer games, or laughing over a shared story. She adored her *grandchildren*-Ryan Jr., Addison, Henry, Greyson, and Lukas-who kept her young at heart and filled her days with pride and purpose. Whether they were going to the movies or making memories at local events, she was always showing them off with joy and a sparkle in her eye. Pam's compassion extended to animals, especially senior pets who needed a second chance. Her home was a sanctuary, not only for those she rescued but for everyone who walked through her door. And on fall Saturdays, you could count on her to be cheering loudly for her beloved Alabama Crimson Tide-Roll Tide Roll! Pam is survived by her children: Paul Pratt and Blake (Bridget) Pratt of Princeton, IL, and Rachel Pratt of Noblesville, IN; stepchildren Ryan (Holly) Marsh of Hansville, WA and Autum (Cassandra) Willis of Clinton, IA; and her five treasured grandchildren: Ryan Jr., Addison, Henry, Greyson, and Lukas. She now joins her parents, Bruce and Annie, and her beloved husband, Kevin, in eternal peace. Pam lived with a full heart, open arms, and a deep love for her people and her place. Her absence leaves a space that can never truly be filled, but her spirit will continue to live on in every flower blooming in her garden, every Rotary meeting where people gather to serve, and every act of kindness shared in her name. A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on Sunday, June 8, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at The Cliff in Princeton, IL.
