Penny Sue Transou

Princeton - Penny Sue Transou, 74, passed away at OSF St Clare in Princeton, IL on Saturday, July 20, 2024 surrounded by her loving husband and family. Penny, born in Princeton, IL on June 3, 1950 to the late Fred and Rita (Saathoff) Heeren. She married Joe Transou on November 26, 1966 in Sterling, IL. They shared 57 years of marriage, sisters marrying twin brothers. Sharing a life of love, joy and family memories. She worked as an in-home daycare provider for over forty years. Her love for the little ones knew no bounds and she cherished her time helping others care for their little ones. She was a member of the Kasbeer Community Church. Penny's faith was what drove her. Her relationship with Jesus was so important to her. Penny loved to read, you could find her in her free time, which wasn't a lot, curled up with her bible, or baking cookies, pies or cakes, either by herself or teaching her grandbabies the ways and secret recipes of the family. Helping others was in her blood and if anyone needed assistance, you could count on Penny to be one of the first there to help. She was a caregiver her entire life, and no matter how tired or busy she was, she showed up with a smile, a hug and words of comfort. Surviving Penny, her mother, Rita Heeren of Princeton, IL; husband Joe Transou of Ohio, IL; son, Jeff (Rich Hendricks) of Davenport, IA, John (Lori) Transou of Harmon, IL, daughter Joleen (Jeff) Freeman of Princeton, TX; sister, Paula (Dennis) Hays of Hoopole, IL; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren. Preceded by her father, Fred Heeren, brother Terry Heeren, sister Peggy (Heeren) Transou. A visitation for Penny will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024 at Norberg Memorial Home, Inc. & Monuments from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Services on Saturday, July 27, 2027 at 2:00 p.m. at Norberg Memorial Home, Inc. & Monuments, officiated by Jeff Barker. Graveside services to follow at the Corss Cemetery in Wyanet, IL with words of comfort offered by Jeff Barker.
