Skylar August Coffin

Princeton – Skylar August Coffin, 23, of Princeton, IL passed away on Friday, August 17, 2018 with her dog Echo after a head-on collision outside of Princeton, IL. Skylar was born on February 1, 1995 in Princeton, IL to Clifford D. Coffin and Karen J Mongan. She was a graduate of Princeton High School and worked part-time as a vet assistant. Her love for animals knew no bounds and started in her childhood and carried over into her adulthood. Skylar was one to never leave without telling the people around her that she loved them. She was an avid almost obsessed pet lover, from the smallest butterfly to the largest dog, she loved them all. She was a very caring and very generous person, who would do anything for anyone. She loved her tie-dyed Grateful Dead shirts from a young age which was inherited from her father. Her love of music made her an old soul, she loved anything 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. She really enjoyed fishing and walking at the canal with her two dogs, Riley and Echo. She loved to do anything outdoors, camping, hiking, and she really enjoyed dirt bike riding, from the age of seven on. One of her favorite past times was hanging out with her boyfriend, Tobi Britton, good friends and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed volunteering at her nieces and nephews school events. She is survived by; her parents, Clifford Coffin – Princeton, IL, Karen Mongan – Princeton, IL, her grandparents; Larry and Vicki Mongan – Princeton, IL, one brother, Jonathan (Kayla) Buckman – Wilsonville, IL, four sisters; Nicole (Kevin) Carroll – Princeton, IL, Haleigh (Brandon) Youngren – Princeton, IL, Sydnee (Steve Mongan – Toluca, IL, Molley Mares – Princeton, IL, eight nieces; Embyr, Tabitha, Josie, Jennessa, Aurora, Alexia, Lailah, Lyliann and seven nephews; Eli, Tucker, Khalil, Braydin, Dylan, Robert and Elliot and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Skylar is preceded in death by; her grandparents, Don and Ruth Coffin, her stepfather, David Mares, her best friend, Danielle Garza as well as her two dogs, Riley and Echo who passed away in the accident with her. Services for Skylar will be on Monday, August 27, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at New Hope Church of the Nazarene, Princeton, IL, officiated by Pastor Laura Root-Tanner. A Visitation will be held on Monday, August 27, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at New Hope Church of the Nazarene, Princeton, IL.
