Wava L Yepsen

Princeton - Wava Lee Yepsen, 87, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at the Henry Rehab and Nursing Home, in Henry, IL surrounded by her loving family. Wava was born to the late Jack and Mildred (Shoffner) Burrows on January 4, 1936. She was a graduate of Princeton High School, Class of 1954. She married the late Robert Keith Yepsen on June 20, 1954 in Princeton, IL. She spent most of her time as a homemaker raising children and taking care of the family. She worked at Prairie View Nursing Home in Crafts and also volunteered at the Food Pantry as well as Christ Community Church, teaching Sunday School, Bible School, hosted Bible Studies in her home for years as well as a Blue Bird leader and Cub Scout den mother. Wava loved to bake pies! She adored her grandchildren and was always at their events. She enjoyed volunteering and spending time with family. Surviving Wava is one brother Harry (Teresea) Burrows, her three sons, Mike (Barb) Yepsen of Spring Valley, IL, Keith (Lynnette) Yepsen of Lowell, IN and Alan (Michelle) Yepsen of Granville, IL, one daughter Deb (Nick) Thomas of Montgomery, AL; seven grandchildren, Christina Yepsen, Joshua Thomas, John Yepsen, Bryton Yepsen, Jesse Thomas, Nathan Yepsen, Shelby Klais; (she is expecting Wava's first great grandchild this year). Preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Mildred Burrows, husband Robert Yepsen (2017), two grandsons Scott Abell (1991), Tanner Yepsen (2015), One brother John Burrows (1949), one sister Sally (John) Woolley, and Robert's sister, Marilyn (Jerrell) Long. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Christ Community Church in Princeton, IL. Services to follow on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at Christ Community Church in Princeton, Officiated by Elder Joe Bates. Graveside services to follow at Oakland Cemetery in Princeton, IL. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Christ Community Church or charity of donors choice.
