Robert P. Gorman, 74, of 510 West Ovens Street, Tiskilwa, died Thursday, May 3, 2007 at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton, Il. He was born June 11, 1932 in Buda to Pauline(McCauley and Everett Gorman. he married Genevieve Somers in 1957. He graduated from Tiskilwa High School in 1950, university of Notre Dame in 1954, and Notre Dame Law School in 1957. Upon Graduation from law school he was selected to serve as law clerk to associate Justice Tom C. Clark on the U.s. Supreme Court in Washington D.C. In 1958 he joined the law firm of Jones Day in Cleveland, Ohio, before moving to Clapp and Eisenberg of Newark, New Jersey. In the mid-1980s, he entered private practice in Princeton, New Jersey, which he continued until he was able to successfully match law and love of sports in the late 1990s as general counsel for the Trenton Shooting Stars of the International Basketball League. He retired in 2001 and relocated from New Jersey back to his hometown of Tiskilwa. He married Kathryn Feldges Nordstrom in 2002. He was a Trustee of St. Mary's Church and Cemetery in Tiskilwa. He was a member of the Notre Dame Club of Starved Rock and past president of the Tiskilwa Community Association. Surviving are his wife Kathryn, his children: Kevin Gorman of Philadelphia, PA, James(Megan)Gorman of Melrose Park, PA, Mary(Alok)Singh of New York City, NY, Sally(Mike)Fitzhugh of Oakland, CA, Robyn (Thomas)Savage of San Francisco, CA. His step-children: Frank(Janda)Nordstrom of Tiskilwa, Il., Fred(Arlene)Nordstrom of Ft. Riley, KS., and Susan Nordstrom of Shannon, Il. Also surviving are grandchildren:Anna and Jamie Singh, Will and Nick Fitzhugh, Lydie and Evie Gorman, and Peter Savage. Surviving as well are step grandchildren:Garrick, Blake, and Brady Nordstrom, Christopher and Jake Nordstrom, Cole hunton, Paxton Strouse, one brother, John (Melba) Gorman of Kansas City, MO, one niece and two nephews. Services will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, May 9, at St. Mary's Church in Tiskilwa. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Tiskilwa. Visitation will be from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton with a rosary being recited at 8:00pm. A memorial fund has been established.
