Princeton- Robert L. Manning, 70, of Princeton, IL passed away on December 6, 2016 at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton. Robert Lee Manning was born on November 1, 1946 to Ralph H. and Nellie M. (Murphy) Manning in Princeton, IL. He attended high school in Peoria. He married Donna L. Balkam on January 16, 2004 in Princeton. He retired from Illinois Cement in LaSalle. Robert was a member of the Moose Lodge, ABC Bowling and the Steelworkers Union. He enjoyed woodworking, bowling, the quiet outdoors, spending time at the cabin in Wisconsin, golfing and his grandchildren. He attended the Henry Bible Church. He is survived by four daughters, Melody (Jason) Peach of Princeton; Shauna Manning of Pricneton; Misty Kaufman of Peoria; Kristy (Mike) Holeman of Bettendorf, IA; five sons, Tom (Amy) Manning of Bonduel, WI; Tim Manning of Kansas City, MO; Perry Freeman of Bourbonnais; Wayne Storm of Tacoma, WA and Kevin Freeman of Princeton; two sisters, Ila Hendrickson of Princeton and Colleen (Mike) Sayers of East Peoria; three brothers, Eugene (Sandy) Swanson of Peoria; Larry (Rhonda) Swanson of Peoria; Alvin (Jennifer) Swanson of Peoria; 18 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; birthmother, Josephine Swanson; one brother, Harold Manning; and one sister, Faye Swanson. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 3:00 until 6:00 pm at Norberg Memorial Home. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 6:00 pm with Pastor Dale Tripp officiating. Cremation will be accorded, burial will follow at a later date.
