Elsie Mae Lundgren 1931-2012 Funeral service for Elsie M. Lundgren, age 80 of Princeton, will be Monday, Apr 30, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Norberg Memorial Home. Rev. Thomas Ostrander will officiate. Burial will be private and at a later date. The family will receive friends on Sunday, Apr 29, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Norberg Memorial Home. Mrs. Lundgren passed away on Wednesday, Apr 25, 2012 at Colonial Rehab and Nursing Center. She was born on Sep 26, 1931 at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton, Illinois the oldest daughter of Arthur and Claudia (Eddy) Fiste. She attended grade school at Berlin Township school and graduated from Malden High School in 1949. She married Donald Lundgren on Feb 18, 1951 in Malden Methodist Church. Before their children were born , Elsie worked at Harper-Wyman as a secretary. She was an active member in the Malden Community Club and the Malden United Methodist Church. She served on the Malden School Board for several years and was a Camp Fire Girl leader when her daughters were young. While raising their family, Don and Elsie packed up their kids every summer and took off on vacation, exploring national parks, visiting relatives, and making thousands of memories for their family. After retirement, she and Don loved travelling around the country in their motorhome, spending winters in Brandenton, FL and summers camping with their many friends in the Princeton area Good Sams Club. She also spent many hours researching her family tree and working at the Bureau County Genealogical Society. Elsie is survived by her husband of 61 years, Don Lundgren of Princeton. Also surviving are four children; Lori (Tim) Arbet of Sherrard, Amy (Bob) Gorman of Broomfield, CO, Wendy (Dave) Mussche of Wyanet and John (Lisa) Lundgren of Malden. Surviving as well are grandchildren Stephanie, Abby, and Eric Arbet; Joshua, Luke, and Zachary Gorman; Tiffany (Travis Grawe), Meghan and Emma Mussche; Matthew (Sarah Maxwell) and Rachel (Jon Lilley) Denton; and James and Halliegh Lundgren. Also surviving are siblings, Phyllis Bickett, Shirley Fiste, and Dennis Fiste all of Princeton; a sister-in-law Rita Fiste of St. Louis, MO; sisters and brothers-in-law Doris (Garney) Schultz of Cherry, Bonnie (Bob) Manahan of Peru and Kenny (Annette)Lundgren of Angola, IN and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Don and her brothers-in-law Charles Bickett and Edward Nickel. Memorials may be directed to Bureau County Genealogical Society or donor's choice.
