Harold "Boone" Edward Council Obituary Born February 14, 1921 – Elkhart, Illinois Died June 20, 2010 – Princeton, Illinois at his home after a short illness. Son of Ed Council and Harriet (Conrey) Council Married Sally Skinner August 5, 1950 she died in October, 1989. Survived by one son Edward L. Council and Bridget McManus (Council) of Framingham, MA Sister, Helen (Myron) Mueller of Taylor Ridge, IL. And a very special friend, Marcia Roberts of Princeton, IL. Proceeded in death by his parents, and his sister, Mary Drummond of Santa Barbara, CA – 1994. Graduated from College of Agriculture at the University of Illinois in 1942. Member of Farm House Fraternity Life Member of the University of Illinois Alumni Association Member of University of Illinois President’s Council Served in the US Army from 1942 - 1945 as an officer in the Quartermaster Corps in the European Theater After the war, attended the University of Wisconsin Graduate School of Agricultural and served as an instructor in Animal Husbandry at the University. Later worked for the Equity Livestock Marketing Association in Milwaukee and Monroe, Wisconsin. Accepted a livestock marketing position with Interstate Producer in Princeton, Illinois Became a farmer in Bureau County in 1952 and retired in 1987. Served on Bureau County Farm Bureau Board of Directors Served on the Pork Producer Board of Directors both local and state. Received the Prairie Farmer Master Farmer award in 1972. Served for twenty years on the Princeton High School Board of Education with six years as President. Served on the Board of Directors of the Greenfield Retirement Home. Served on Board of Director of Princeton National Bancorp, Inc. (Citizens First National Bank) for nine years Member of the Princeton Masonic Lodge 587 A.F. & A.M. for 60 years Member of the Hampshire Colony Congregational Church for over 50 years In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the Bureau Valley Volunteer Hospice, to the Zearing Child Enrichment Center or to the Hampshire Colony Congregational Church. Visitation will be at Norberg Memorial Home, Princeton on Friday, June 25 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm. A Masonic service will be held at 7:00 pm A Memorial Services will be held at the Hampshire Colony Congregational Church, Princeton on Saturday, June 26 at 11:00 AM. All friends and family are encouraged to attend a luncheon to be held immediately after the service in the Fellowship Hall of the Church.
