Tiskilwa - James Ray Madsen, 73, passed away at Carle Health Methodist in Peoria, IL on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born in Spring Valley, IL to the late Ray and Viola (Bird) Madsen on May 7, 1949. He was a graduate of the Henry-Senachwine Consolidated High School, Class of 1967. He received his Associates Degree from Danville Junior College. He married Rebecca "Bunny" Madsen from June 28, 1969 until 1996, when they divorced. Jim would remarry later in life to Marsha Dianne Abell on May 17, 1997. He spent his entire life as a farmer. Serving as Chairman of the Indian Hills Golf Course, founding member of Indian Hills Golf Course as well as running the golf course. He served as President of Henry chapter of FFA in high school, as well as Tiskilwa Rural Fire Protection Board for almost 40 years, Wyanet Township Board 1982, 1983, 1989, 1991 and Chairman of Indian Hills Golf Club from 1996-1997. Jim loved spending time with his family. He taught his girls Carla, Jennifer and Katie the love of the land and would take them on drives around fields just looking at the progress and growth. He enjoyed a good game of golf and working on equipment. He could fix just about anything and loved tinkering around the farm and the house. Surviving Jim, his wife, Marsha Madsen of Tiskilwa, IL; his first wife, Rebecca "Bunny" Madsen; three daughters, Carla (Chris) Irwin, Jennifer Madsen and Katie (Ryan) Reuter; three grandchildren, Jacob Irwin, Logan Reuter and Aubrey Reuter; Stepchildren Erica McComber and Joel (Holli) McComber; as well as three step grandchildren, Cole Erven, Brooke Miceli and Alex McComber; a sister, Diane (Bob) Ori. Preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Viola Madsen. A time of sharing will be on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Norberg Memorial Home, Inc. & Monuments from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Services to follow on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Norberg Memorial Home, Inc. & Monuments, officiated by Pastor Renee Kindle of the Tiskilwa Community Church.
