Jeannine A Griffith

Walnut - Jeannine A Griffith, 73, passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton, IL. Jeannine was born in Princeton, IL to the late Paul and Genieve (Long) Albrecht on August 26, 1947. She was a graduate of Walnut High School, Class of 1965. She attended the Dixon School of Nursing, she didn't get her degree there as they closed the program down before she graduated. She completed her nursing degree at Saint Anthony's College of Nursing in 1969. She married the late Richard Griffith on December 12, 1969 at the Grace Methodist Church in Dixon, IL. She worked as a RN from 1969 to 1975 at KSB and Walnut Manor. She retired to raise her family. Jeannine was a member of 4-H in Lee County as well as a member of the Lee County Fair Board, she was a member of the Antique Club of Indian Valley as well as a member of the Red Oak United Methodist Church. She enjoyed making things for others. She could do just about anything when it came to crafts. She could knit, crochet, paint, sew, cross stitch, she even knew how to basket weave. She loved camping at Wood Haven, she volunteered at the Special Olympics. She would help decorate cakes and was an amazing cook and baker. Her biggest joys in life were always her children and grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as nana. Jeannine is survived by her four children, Paul Griffith of Walnut, IL, Judy Griffith of Walnut, IL, Wende Griffith of Walnut, IL and Rita (Justin) May of Ohio, IL; eight grandchildren, Caitlin, Shelby, Whitnea, Paul, Rabecca, Joshua, Leah and Grace; one great grandchild, Kyran; as well as numerous non-biological grandchildren, Beth, Mandy, Billy, Allie and Kelly, with many more that referred to her as Nana; her stepmother, Jean Albrecht of Franklin Grove, IL; two step siblings, Jean (Richard) Wilker and David (Tonya) Littlewood; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Genieve Albrecht, her husband, Richard (05/29/2005), three sons Michael Griffith, Steven Griffith and Shawn Griffith. Flowers or memorials may be directed to the Red Oak United Methodist Church, Red Oak Cemetery Fund and the Lee County Fair Association. A visitation for Jeannine will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at the Red Oak United Methodist Church from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Services to follow the visitation on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at the Red Oak United Methodist Church at 12:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Kelly McKune.
