Merley Scott Donoho

Wyanet - Merley Scott Donoho, 51 of Wyanet, IL passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at home after a 3 year hard-fought battle with cancer. Merley was born on August 14, 1973 in Dekalb, IL to Larry W and Myra Elaine Donoho. He graduated from Hinkley Big Rock High School and was employed by LCN Door Closers as a heat treat operator until 2019 when he was no longer able to work. He married his love, Dawn Frank on August 14, 2022 in the eyes of the Lord, family and friends. They celebrated their love on a daily basis and were so grateful for the 9 years that they were given together. Merle was an avid outdoorsman. Having a passion for camping, especially during rain storms, gardening, morel hunting, fishing, and riding on the gator with his grandbabies. He had a love for all animals and fur babies, including his beloved flock of chickens. He absolutely loved all genres of music and would spend hours strumming his guitar or listening to albums on his record player. He was always happiest when surrounded by his family and friends. He will always be deeply missed and remembered for his loving, goofy personality, always wanting nothing more than for his loved ones to be happy, sharing his humor and silly antics with everyone he met. Merle is survived by his wife Dawn (Allicks) Frank of Wyanet, IL; his parents Larry W and Myra Elaine Donoho of La Moille, IL.; sister Sherry (Adam Bend) Donoho of Dalzell, IL,; daughter Kasey M McCannon of Big Rock, IL; three step children, Samantha (Matt Haage) Frank of Wyanet, Benjamin (Ashley Everson) Frank of Wyanet, Ashley (Claudio Montecino) Frank of Chicago, IL; Seven grandchildren who were his pride and joy: Chase (Molly) of Princeton, IL, Kadyn, Braxton, Rowan, Jaz'Lynn, Willow and Weston all of Wyanet, IL; one great grandson Tate; his mother-in-law Alyce Allicks of Princeton IL as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, sister and brother in laws, and too many friends to list. Merle is preceded in death by his grandparents, Austin W and J Viola Bagby Sr., Merley and M. Louise Donoho, and his faithful dog Milo and cats Q-tip and Blue Kitty. A Visitation will held on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Norberg Memorial Home, Inc. & Monuments from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Memorial Services to follow at 12:00 pm on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Norberg Memorial Home with Pastor Darin Jones officiating. Graveside services to follow at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Princeton IL. on Thursday, May 8, 2025, with words of comfort offered by Pastor Darin Jones.
