Patricia Ann Peterson

Princeton - Patricia Ann Peterson, 77, of Princeton, IL passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at OSF St. Francis in Peoria, IL. Pat was born in Moline, IL to the late Raymond and Dorothy (Parker) Anderson. She was a graduate of Princeton High School, Class of 1962. She also received her Bachelors of Education from Illinois State University graduating in 1966. She worked at Horizon House in Peru, IL assisting those with developmental disabilities. She did this job with love and care for over 32 years, before retiring. To put it simply, to her family she was everything. She truly exemplified what it means to live for your family. Pat was the first one to show up for family gatherings, she was the biggest fan at all of her kids' and grandkids' sporting events and activities. She was everyone's destination when they ran away from home, she was the person that would softly nudge you in the right direction and she was everyone's shoulder to cry on. Day in and day out she exhibited nothing but true and unconditional love for her "dazzling dozen" grandchildren and her three amazing kids. In many ways, life's beauty for her was simple. Pat was the most selfless, giving and independent person. She never complained about anything, rather always wanted to make sure that everyone else was taken care of. She was the perfect mix of sunshine, strength and sarcasm. Spending time with her was truly a blessing, and the many life lessons she taught will forever live on. She left behind a true army of individuals who are not afraid to stick up for what's right, who constantly enjoy the simple things in life and who will never forget to be there for those who matter most: family. We lost our leader, but she left us with the most amazing memories, lessons and the feeling of true love that will never be forgotten. It hurts now, but as Grandma always said, "This too shall pass." She is survived by her three children, two daughters; Jodi (Brett) Wiedman of Henry, IL and Jami (Patrick) Kunzer of Marengo, IL; one son, Jeff (Angela) Peterson of Princeton, IL; twelve grandchildren that she loved with all of her heart, Jayce Eustice, Brynn Wiedman, Sayge Wiedman, Cameron Peterson, Corinne Peterson, Abby Peterson and Joshua Peterson, Summer Kunzer, Anna Kunzer, Lilly Kunzer, Rowan Kunzer and Finley Kunzer; one brother, Raymond (Judy) Anderson of Monroe, GA. Pat was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Dorothy (Parker) Anderson. A Celebration of Life is to be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Zearing Park in Princeton, IL.
