Richard L. Anderson

Princeton - Richard Anderson, also fondly known as Honda Rider, passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Aperion Care in Princeton, Illinois. Born on June 29, 1938, Richard was the beloved son of Ruben Anderson and Jessie Dennis. Throughout his life, Richard dedicated himself to the farm, working tirelessly as a farm hand. He found solace and joy in the simplicity of farm life, cultivating a deep connection with the land and its rhythms. Beyond his work on the farm, Richard had a passion for motorcycles, earning him the affectionate nickname "Honda Rider." He would often be seen cruising down country roads, reveling in the freedom and thrill of the open road. Richard was also an avid enthusiast of CB radios, enjoying the camaraderie and connection they provided with others in the community. He cherished the lively conversations and shared experiences that came with his hobby. In his leisure time, Richard found great pleasure in attending auctions, where he delighted in discovering hidden treasures and connecting with fellow enthusiasts. Above all else, Richard cherished the time spent with his family and beloved pets. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, finding immense joy in their company and the simple pleasures of life. Richard leaves behind a legacy of hard work, passion, and unwavering love for his family and community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the cherished memories he leaves behind. Surviving are his two daughters, Deb Anderson of Princeton, IL and Cindy (Matt Dalziel) Young of Princeton IL; two sisters Pearl Beams and Wanda Neff; as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents Reuben and Jessie Anderson, Sister Alice Helpingstine, Mable Cook and Helen Villarreal, one brother Lloyd Anderson, as well as one brother-in-law Floyd Beams. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family. A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Norberg Memorial Home, Inc. & Monuments from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Services to follow at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Norberg Memorial Home, Inc. & Monuments, officiated by Pastor Ryan Sutton.
