Dover - Todd Patrick Nyman, of Dover, IL, passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. Born in Princeton, IL to Leonard Nyman and Patricia Griffith, on August 5, 1958, he grew up surrounded by family and lifelong friendships. He graduated from Herrin High School in Tiskilwa, Illinois, with the Class of 1976. On June 6, 1980, Todd married the love of his life, Diane M. Lind. Their story began at the original Prime Quarter and grew into 33 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and devotion. Together, they built a strong and loving family. Though Diane passed in 2013, their bond remained a lasting part of who he was. Todd began his working years in the restaurant business, where his love of cooking and feeding others first took root. That same spirit of caring for people carried into his next chapter when he entered the insurance field in 1986 and opened Nyman Insurance in 1987. Helping others-especially local seniors navigating their medical needs-was never just a job, but something he took to heart. Though health challenges led to an early retirement, he was deeply proud to pass the business on to his son, Brandon, knowing it would continue to serve the community he loved. Time spent outdoors brought him some of his greatest happiness. Fishing, especially, was a constant in his life-so much so that he rarely went anywhere without a pole close by. Many of his favorite memories were made on fishing and hunting trips, particularly those shared with his sons, brothers, and nephews. He also found simple joy in going to the movies, especially at the Apollo Theater, and in reading comic books. Family meant everything to him. He is survived by sons: Aaron (Talisha) Nyman of St. Jacob, IL, Brandon (Nichole) Nyman of Princeton, IL, and Cameron (Katie) Nyman of Arvada, CO; a proud and loving grandfather to ten grandchildren, Hadley, Noah, Caleb, Mira, Sawyer, Foster, Maren, Vivian, Ezra, Nora; all of whom brought him immense joy, his brothers: Brett (Diane) Nyman of Princeton, IL; Shawn (Karen) Nyman of Princeton, IL; and his twin brother, Marc (Pam) Nyman of Marion, IL; one sister, Diane Nyman of Chesterton, IN; and his mother, Patricia Novejelic of Auburn, CA. as well as a very special relationship with his nieces and nephews, each and every one of them: Tyler Nyman, Bryce Nyman, Michael Nyman, Jason Fox, Taylor Brown, Sierra Brown, Timothy Lind, Jeffrery Lind, Michael Lind, Jermey Guinn, Wyatt Lind, Adam Lind, Ashley Lind, Natalie Kloster and Rachel Guinn. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Diane; his father, Leonard; his brother, David; and many aunts and uncles. Those who knew him will remember his generous heart, his quiet strength, and the way he showed love through the things he did-whether that was helping someone in need, sharing a meal, or casting a line on the water with those he cared about most. Visitation on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Norberg Memorial Home, Inc. & Monuments, 701 E. Thompson St., Princeton, IL. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Evangelical Covenant Church in Princeton, IL, with Pastor Derek Boggs officiating. Graveside services will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Princeton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Evangelical Covenant Church of Princeton.
